Palazzo Turchi di Bagno is placed on Corso Ercole I d'Este, in front of the prestigious Palazzo dei Diamanti and next to the crossroad with Corso Biagio Rossetti. It was designed by the Architect Biagio Rossetti 1492 and built by Ercole I d'Este in 1498. The building soon became property of Aldobrandino Turchi, who belonged to the Di Bagno family. From the 60’s of the last century hosts the Botanical Garden of the University of Ferrara (1962) and is currently also home to the Museum System of the University, and a branch of the Departments of Bio Medical Sciences, the Humanities, and the Life Sciences and Biotechnology. On the first floor are situated our laboratories of Archeo-Anthropology and Forensic Anthropology and the Laboratory of Anthropometry. On the ground floor are placed classrooms for joint University teaching of the different Departments. |
